News of some of our latest projects

Ceridian Centrefile - Leadership, Teambuilding and Motivation
- You can make a difference -

Event production company Synapse have brought together national children's charity, NCH Action for Children, and Ceridian Centrefile, leading provider of HR and Payroll solutions, and challenged the 70-strong salesforce to make a difference to the lives of the children and families who use three of NCH's centres.

The Somerset based projects received - in the space of two days - a complete interior and exterior makeover under the careful eyes of professional interior and garden designers. Months of planning and consultation with some of the families who use the centres have ensured that not only were the results family-friendly', but also take account of the very special needs of some of the children and young people.

Teams were judged on leadership skills, teamwork and co-operation, and initiative shown throughout the project, and - to help overcome any practical problems they encountered, Tommy Walsh of BBC's 'Groundforce' fame was on hand to advise!

In addition to creating the original concept for the event, Synapse was also responsible for all delegate logistics and evening entertainments including a West Country Barn Dance, and a Gala Dinner and Awards Night.

Derby City Council - Staff Communications
With a workforce of over 12,000 strong, it's a real challenge for the Council to communicate strategy and important new initiatives that will impact on both the level of service provision to the City's inhabitants, and the employees' working lives.

So they asked us to help devise a format for a series of staff conferences that would take place over the course of three days at the City's prestigious Assembly Rooms.

Perversely, our first suggestion was to set up a photo competition! Our aim was to involve as many staff in the run-up to the event, and create a 'viral marketing' effect to make sure everyone knew the conferences were
taking place.

The results were then incorporated into a thought-provoking multimedia opener, describing the incredible range of activities carried out by employees around the clock - from responding to a late night emergency call from an elderly resident, to lifesaving training at the sports centre.

The conference format was devised to incorporate plenty of interaction with the employees with quizzes, workshop and feedback sessions … and to everyone's delight - speeches were kept to a minimum!

The full range of responses to the event has yet to be fully evaluated, but the 12 out of 10 given by one attendee suggests that the events were a success!

Toshiba- Promotional DVD
To clearly demonstrate the outstanding performance of their new flat panel TV, Toshiba commissioned Synapse to create a DVD programme that would both show the superb picture on-screen, and graphically demonstrate the advantages of Toshiba’s new processing system, Active Vision LCD.

Synapse achieved this using a visually stunning combination of hi-definition library footage and specially designed videographic sequences The footage was carefully chosen to highlight each of the product’s four key feature areas: Detail, Colour, Movement and Contrast.

With just 3 weeks from briefing to delivery, in time for a Dealer and Press launch event, Synapse completed the project to everyone’s satisfaction - so much so that the programme has now been translated into 10 languages and is being used across Europe for
in-store consumer promotion!
